Voice for the Girl Child Foundation Observes Children’s Day 2020

A child is anyone under the age of eighteen (18) years. We understand that below eighteen (18), is a critical period in the development of every human person and that is why as duty bearers in today’s society we are committed to the protection of children’s rights.

As at today, the 27th of May 2020, we record over seven (7) years of social and humanitarian services to children across Nigeria, and we are proud to have played a significant role in the protection of Children’s rights thus far.

Inspite our success, there are loopholes and challenges that we need to address as rights holders, duty bearers and as a state party to the treaties that legally protect children all over the world.
Such challenges include:
Child labour
Child trafficking
Child abuse
Inadequate parental/ guardian support
Poor education
Poor access to health
Insurgency & terrorism
Crisis

Today, we further reiterate our committment to build safe spaces for children in our communities and to ensure they we do it the right way.
Happy Children’s Day
