Slain Ropvil Daciya: Family Urges Govt to Put in Place Measure to Holistically Combat Insecurity

The Family of Late Ropvil Daciya Dapel, a 200 Biology Student of University of Maiduguri, Borno State who was abducted while resuming school after the festivity on 9th January, 2020 and thereafter slain by the dreaded Boko Haram Terrorists has called on the Government and security agencies to put in place more measure towards bringing a permanent end to the rising insecurity bedeviling the Nation.

They said government must do all within its powers to ensure that Nigeria is peaceful, safe and secured.

Speaking on behalf of the family, Da David Daciya said though they are pained with the killing of their Son, Mr. Ropvil Daciya who was gruesomely murdered by Boko Haram, they have left everything to God and comforted by the fact that fact that he is resting with the Lord.

Da Daniel Daciya said Government must take the statement of the teenage Boko Haram who shot Ropvil to death seriously.

He charged government to intensify efforts towards restoring security, peace, unity and harmonious living in the Country.

He made the disclosures while he granted audience to Journalists at his residence in Kufang, Jos South LGA Plateau State.

In their separate remarks, the National President Mupun Cultural Development Association (MUCDA), Chief Pedro Ardiyel Dakur Pharm. Mizim Dagung Haruna the Senior Legislative Aide to Rt. Hon. Yusuf Gagdi who stood in for his Principal and the National President of National Association of Plateau State Student, Cmr. Hommualak Sean all described the deceased as a Dedicated, industrious and promising young man who is already greatly missed. They said the entire State has been thrown unto mourning and grieved following the release of the video of his execution by his killers, Boko Haram.

They said Government should step up efforts toward safeguarding the people which is its fundamental responsibility.

They said the inability of government and security agency to tackle insecurity may heighten suspicion of complacency.

They said government must live up to its cardinal constitutional responsibilities of protecting lives and property of the citizens.

They also charged government to deploy concerted efforts to ensure the release of others being held hostage by Boko Haram.

They thanked well meaning Citizens for standing with them in their trying moments saying they are encouraged, strengthened and comforted by the show of love & empathy.
