Rep. Mwadkwon Train Constituents on Fish Farming, Provide Finances to Participants for Startup

In order to reduce poverty, improve the living standard and improve the economic wellbeing of the people of Barkin Ladi and Riyom LGAs, the Member representing Barkin Ladi/Riyom Federal Constituency Plateau State, Rep. Simon Mwadkwon through the Federal College of Fisheries and Marine Technology Lagos in conjunction with Diviks Global Services Ltd organized a two-day intensive training to 36 Constituents including the physically challenged who were drawn across the Federal Wards within Barkin Ladi and Riyom LGAs on Fish Farming.

The training held in Gwol from Wednesday 23rd to Thursday 24th December, 2020.

The Federal Lawmaker who was personally present at the graduation appreciated the Participants for investing their time, energy and intellectual capacity for the training which he said has the propensity of lifting them out of poverty zone if effectively adhered to.

Dr. Mwadkwon underscored the importance of the training to include building the capacities of the people to be self-employed and self-reliant both financially and economically instead of waiting for white-collar jobs that are not available to cater for the unemployed population in the Country.

He urged them to put the funds he is providing them as startup effectively in order to improve their living condition. He admonished them not to despise their days of little beginning but take care of the “seed income” to multiply.

He promised to monitor them periodically for more possible future interventions to the serious ones.

The Federal Lawmaker said he has prioritize human capital development and will continue to key into programmes that will strategically empower the people.
He posited that he will continue to provide credible and result-driven representation.

He urged the people to be security conscious and stick to all COVID-19 guidelines as they go about the festivities.

Speaking at the occasion, Da Stephen Nuhu Gyang an Elder from Barkin Ladi and the Chairman of PDP Ward Chairmen in Barkin Ladi, Mr. Kefas Yohanna appreciated the Lawmaker for the laudable initiative and urged the participants to take what they learnt seriously and work towards actualizing the aims of the training.
They described the Lawmaker as a top performer who is always with the people and empowering them. They commended the Legislator for not disappointing the party but making it proud and impacting the people and Constituency at large.

Some Participants Mrs Salome Kachollom Chuwang, Chollom Peter Pam and Prince Chai Mathais who spoke commended the Member for not only teaching them how to be self-reliant and self-sufficient but also empowering them.
They promised to continue to accord the lawmaker the needed supports and make good use of the professional training and funds they received.

One of the Facilitators lauded the Lawmaker for demonstrating Love and empathy to the less privileged. He urged others to emulate the lawmaker.

Each Participant was given N50,000 for startup and certificates of participations were issued to all participants.
