Rep ID Gyang, Member representing Barkin Ladi/Riyom Federal Constituency at the National Assembly has applauded the vision and initiative of the COCIN President and leadership for establishing LIGHT FOOTBALL CLUB. He made the commendation at the official unveilling of the club at COCIN Garki Abuja on Tuesday, 09/10/18.

Rep Gyang described the initiative by COCIN leadership as welcome idea and a veritable platform that will harness, cultivate and nurture the talents and refine the character of the youth.

He dismissed fears of the moral standing of the youth as a precondition for being engaged as trainee players. He asserted that what the youth needed was an encounter with the refining power of God’s word through the working of the Holy Spirit to be transforned and reformed. He made reference to Onesimus a youth in the Bible who overcame a character challenge and was not only  transformed but became useful after encountering the Holy Soirit through the ministry of Apostle Paul.

Rep Gyang further spoke on the step taken by the church as strategic in taking over the gate of sports and entertainment so as to transform it from the kingdoms of this world into the kingdom of our God.

He expressed confidence in the potentials and endowments of the youths and urged them to take full advantage of the opportunity being afforded by the establishment of the LIGHT FC by COCIN.

The event was chaired by Prof Bogoro while the COCIN President Rev Dr Dachollom Datiri gave the exhortation.

Also present were the COCIN Vice President, General Secretary, RCC chairmen along with Prof Joseph Golwa and Coach Bitrus Bewarang.
