It’s with great delight that we bring to you the highlights of another edition of your favorite Magazine, the Niis Security Focus; a publication of Nigerian Institute for Industrial Security. This publication is believed to have maintained and still floating due to your immense support, patronage and believe in the avowed commitment to exploring your knowledge of the security situation in our society. In the content, you wouldn’t want to miss the report of the Nigerian Army Media Parley which was organised towards building a robust relationship between the Nigerian Guild of Editors, Nigerian Union of Journalists, Nigeria Institute of Public Relations, Guild of Corporate Online Publishers and Guild of Professional Bloggers of Nigeria.


The engagement was the first of its kind. It was born out of the desire of stakeholders in both media and security industries to impact knowledge on the issue and, deepened understanding of National security. At the end of the parley, a communique on enhancing Media-Military relationship for effective fight against terrorism and insurgency in Nigeria was issued.


The parley was attended by the Chief of Army Staff Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai, former Minister of Information Alh. Lai Mohammed and other top government functionaries. NiiS Security Focus Magazine’s Executive Director, Publication Mr. Wetten was a participant who served a full load of the event for your consumption delight.
In this edition, we bring to you a blazing interview we had with some top brass of the Nigerian Military; on the menu is Brig. Gen. M. Bala-Ali (Rtd), a retired Military Intelligence Officer who is currently a lecturer at the Nigerian Defence Academy, NDA Kaduna . Gen. Bala-Ali is of the opinion that the prolonged “survival of insurgency in Nigeria is as a result of Intelligence Failure.”
Another current issue of boiling concern in Nigeria today is kidnapping. Mr. Bonny Orjie, a seasoned security professional with 24 years’ cognate experience gave an in-depth perspective on how to “address the challenges of kidnapping for ransom in Nigeria”.
