NGAS YOUTHS MOVEMENT (NYM) NATIONAL BODY

27th October, 2020.

PRESS STATEMENT

Dear compatriots,

We are witnesses to a well intentioned protest by progressive Nigerian youths in the last couple of weeks. Such protest has changed the age long narrative on the lips of many Nigerians who believed that revolution was an impossibility owing to the fact that Nigeria is a multi ethnic and multi religious geographical formation. As it stands today, we the young Nigerians who started the protest have placed on record a precedence that shall go down in history as a reference point for any future struggles towards a better Nigeria. Indeed, the birth of a new Nigeria has since begun with the peaceful protests that spread across the country as it were. We wish to, with all sense of sincerity and purpose commend the peaceful nature of Nigerian youths who came out to stage a protest that heralded the birth of a new Nigeria.

However, the NOBLE INTENTIONS of a peaceful protest gradually lost its grip on nobility as hoodlums and miscreants infiltrated the struggle and get the NOBLE INTENTIONS of those of us who meant well for this country adulterated with vices. These vices birthed the vandalisation of private and government properties; in extreme cases, leading to deaths.

We had it on Intel that a group of miscreants and hoodlums within Pankshin and Kanke local government areas had planned to replicate the hooliganism taking place in some other parts of the country within Pankshin and Kanke on Monday, the 26th day of October, 2020. Happily and with a slim sense of relief, the information currently on our table reveals that the evil mission was aborted on its day of execution for reasons not yet uncovered. We hope the abortion of the evil mission was done in good faith for good. We are watching very closely to ensure that this aborted mission does not turn out to be a decoy to deceive the unsuspecting public and keep off guard while the enemies (hoodlums) re-strategize to strike at a time the public never expected.
As events unfold in the coming days, we enjoin all law abiding citizens especially Ngas Youths presently at home (Pankshin and Kanke LGAs) to keep watch and dissociate themselves from all activities that will lead to the breakdown of law and order. We call on all well meaning youths to be on the watch and get ready to repel any of such evil intentions in its entirety.

With every sense of duty and responsibility, we hereby place on record that we stand against every form of hooliganism ranging from breaking into government or private warehouses, secretariats, residential buildings as well as vandalisation of properties and harassment of law abiding citizens who go about their normal businesses.

We call on all the well meaning Nigerian youths to, at this critical moment, leave the streets so as to leave the bad eggs to continue with their naked dance in the marketplace. We are satisfied that as youths of civility and nobility, we have made our points. Our voices have rung and resonated loud and clear across the roof tops of the whole world. It is time to quit the streets not because we are giving up the struggle but to create the incubation period for the results of a new Nigeria to fall due. We have fully discharged our assignment, let the struggle continue in a subtle way as we all watch a new Nigeria rise from the ashes.

Finally, we want to most sincerely salute the relentless efforts of our hunters who were fully on ground to protect the LGCs and repel the hoodlums should they carry out their evil plans of attacking the two local government councils as pedelled by rumour.

God bless the well intentioned NOBLEMEN/WOMEN!
God bless Ngas Youths!
God bless Ngas Nation!
God bless Plateau state!
God bless Nigeria!
We shall surely rise again!

Yours in the struggle for a better Nigeria,

Comr. Nensok Luka Gonet,
NYM National President

Comr. Nenrot Duklah Gyangyang,
NYM National Sec. Gen.
