Lalong has failed us on the Issue of IDPs , Appointment of Transition Committee Chairmen – COCIN

President of the Church of Christ In Nations (COCIN) Rev Dachollom Datiri , has said the Plateau state government has failed them as a Church , stressing that Internally Displaced Persons IDPS in the state continue to languish in their woes despite promises of relocating them to their homes .

Speaking at the 97th General Church Council in Jos , Datiri said the Victims of Man,s inhumanity to man that occurred in many parts of Plateau state last year and especially in Barkin Ladi LGA remain in a sorry predicament , their situation is made worst by the fact that spirited individuals and NGOs that use to offer assistance have all grown tired and dry , we must tell government the truth and say that Plateau state government has failed us in her responsibility in that area .
He further said “Somebody needs to tell the Government of Plateau state that they erred in not consulting widely before appointment of transition committee chairmen Jos North, Jos South , Riyom. and Barkin ladi LGA,s , this ill fated move is threatening the peace of the state , government should known that as a church we desire that they succeed , any council we give is for the purpose .
He also lamented that Government is saying nothing about the attacks on communities which has continued unabated , Plateau Government is saying nothing and doing anything about it , the security that is supposed to protect the citizenry is playong complicity , i passionately call on government at all levels to remember the day of reckoning .”

“The rate ,frequency and widespread of kidnappings and armed robbery we are witnessing today in the country has reached an alarming and very disturbing proportion , he added .” he added .
