Thursday 2nd June 2016 – Hon. Bitrus Doro the management committee chairman for Barkin Ladi LGA is reportedly set to, along with Governor Lalong commission a rural electrification project in Heipang. The project which can be seen in pictures below comprises a transformer along with other electricity transmission paraphenalia.

When fully functional, the project is expected to enhance the energy needs and alleviate the energy poverty of the heipang community.

In a related development, the Plateau state government have forged on with its support for CT Cosmos Nigeria Ltd (the firm set to build and commission) a large 70MW solar power plant in Panyam. Discussions with engineers at CT Cosmos Ltd suggests that planning permission for the project have reached advanced levels and that the EPC stage should commence once most of the planning and licencing issues are finalized.
