Hon. Musa Agah Avia Moves Motion for Reconstruction of Collapsed Culvert in his Constituency

NOTICE OF MOTION……A CALL ON THE PLATEAU STATE GOVERNMENT TO CONSIDER THE RECONSTRUCTION OF THE COLLAPSED BOX CULVERT LINKING BINCHI TOWN AND NEIGHBOURING COMMUNITIES WITH THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT HEADQUARTERS…

It is obviously fundamental that one of the ways of guaranteeing growth and development in our rural communities is through the provision of basic infrastructural needs such as access roads and bridges linking these communities, especially that these communities are largely agrarian in nature.

However, natural disasters to our common knowledge are unavoidable elements, as such, when it happens, it leaves More devastating and traumatic impacts on the rural dwellers. The result of this flooding consequence is what we have experienced recently in Binchi Town.

Binchi is one of the communities in kishika District of Rukuba Chiefdom in Bassa LGA; a community bordered by other communities like Mafara,Kishi,Buyo,Kisanchi etc.

A major road linking these aforementioned communities with the Local Government Headquarters has been ravaged by flood due to a heavy down pour resulting in the total washing away and collapse of a box culvert as well as destruction of crops and farmlands.

Now therefore, I call on this honourable House to resolve to call on the Plateau state Government to as a matter of urgency direct the Plateau Roads maintenance Agency to swiftly move to the rescue of the affected Community taking into consideration the plights of the rural dwellers and neighboring communities whose means of transportation has been cut off completely thereby affecting commercial and social activities and hampering development… I so move.

(Hon Musa Agah Avia, Member Representing Rukuba/Irigwe constituency.
