Hon. Stanley Kavwam condemns the arrest of Emmanuel Zopmal, asks Gagdi to release him

Rt Hon Gagdi!
Since news broke this morning that Emmanuel Zopmal had been arrested and taken to Abuja, I have been gravely perturbed that the parties to this conflict are Honourable members!

Sir, in as much as I would not hold brief for any one of you or blame anyone of you for the current imbroglio, my submission in this regard is to let you know that as an honorable member that you are, kindly temper justice with mercy.

Forgiveness is an attribute of the strong as the weak cannot forgive. I hereby plead on behalf of Emmanuel Zopmal and his nursing wife that you withdraw this matter from law enforcement agents.

Furthermore, as a politician that you are, remember that you may need Emmanuel Zopmal someday in your rise to the top!

I remember how myself and Hon Luka Dalang exchanged all manner of insults with respect to our aspiration for House Representatives seat for Mangu/Bokkos Federal constituency

Both of us laying claim to the ticket of the SDP but ended up working for the PDP in the same 2019 governorship election just two weeks after the Presidential election.

We were eating from the same plate and sleeping in the same hotel for days while the election process lasted at Varlaine in Mangu and have been friends ever since.

Sir, we were only able to do this because of maturity and our understanding of the fact that the only permanent phenomenon in politics is collective interest!

Sir, for the sake of Emmanuel Zopmal’s wife and his one month old son, please let him reunite with his family!

Finally, you are today the member representing PKK because your opponents took the same step you have taken today!

Desmond Tutu remarked that “we learn from history that we don’t learn from history”.

I’m confident that you will accord my epistle the honour due to your magnificence and prove to your traducers once more that you are a bridge builder and a compassionate leader!

Accept the assurances of my highest regard and esteem Hon Sir.
Sincerely Kavwam Stanley Augustine
