Youth activist Emmanuel D. Bature speaks on attacks on peaceful protesters.

Emmanuel Bature in Response to the Tuesday killing of peaceful protesters in Lagos and the hijacking of the protest on the Plateau state accuses the government and her supporters for carrying out massacre.

The constitution of Nigeria only allow the commander in chief of the arm forces to give the military order to attack, the government cannot deny the fact they don’t know anything about the massacre in Lekki, Lagos.

From the leak video on the call conversation with the All Progressive Congress leader Bola Ahmed Tinibu who was first accused of being responsible for the killings, in defence of himself Tinibu said he is not the commander in chief to have ordered the military to shoot peaceful protesters. So the question is who gave the military order?

I have been following up the protest on the Plateau state, the protest have been peaceful until some hoodlums who came and attacked business owners in Jos terminus market, looting and vandalising properties worth millions of Naira. One of the hoodlums was apprehended and he confessed to have been given 500 naira approximately 1 USD to disguise to carry out an attack on the people because they perceived the protest was an attempt to remove President Buhari.

Why will the government involve in such wicked act by killing young people who were kneeling and singing the national anthem, where is the human right value, would they have been happy if their family or any relative was a victim of such attack and killings.

The government should note the youth didn’t only call out protest to call for an end to SARS and police brutality but the youth are calling for an end to corruption and bad governance.

It is now time to restructure Nigeria.

God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
