The 9TH house of Representatives was inaugurated on the 11th of June, 2019 with the election of RT Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila as Speaker and RT. Hon.Ahmed Idris Wase as Deputy Speaker.Their emergence was a result of cumulative contribution of many ideas, personalities and ultimate prayers in the Femi /Wase campaign train which cut across party lines to achieve National cohesion.

In the journey of four years the success so far recorded in the last six months is remarkable as a result of cordial relationship that exists amongst the leadership and Members of the current House of Representatives as well as with Executive arm of government.

The Ninth House of Reps, started on a peaceful note and and by the grace of God it will continue in that direction till the end of the tenure as the honorable members will continue to rise above partisan and divisive inclinations that will derail the progress of the Assembly and the Nation as a Whole.

The spirit of oneness in the joint task of Nation building gave rise to the numerous successes recorded which include the passage of very important bills such as the deep off shore and inland basin production sharing contract act cap D3 L F N 2004 (Amendment bill 2019) which was assented to by President Muhammadu Buhari. This law will add to a great extent revenues coming to the purse of the Federation from crude oil contracts for the benefit of all Nigerians.

The house also passed the finance bill 2019 which amended seven existing tax and fiscal policy laws for increase inflow of revenues as well as promote micro, small and medium enterprise to grow better in a competitive environment.

The house also passed the 2020 appropriation bill on time with the commitment to returning the country back to the predictable January to December budget cycle.

The early passage of the 2020 budget cannot be of benefit if the cumbersome procurement process is still in place hence the house passed the public procurement act 2007 (amendment) bill to sanitize the public procurement process and curtail corruption which slows the pace of service delivery.

In as much as the successes recorded are enormous, the people of Wase Federal Constituency still call on the Deputy Speaker to continue to demonstrate the high standard of values he is known for, in the coming years especially with the task of amending the Constitution.
We, in Wase Federal Constituency are proud to be associated with the humble and loyal participation of Rt. Hon.Ahmed Idris Wase in the processes that led to the unprecedented achievements so far recorded and pledge our unalloyed support for the nation’s movement to the next level.

Thank you all
Long live Ahmed Idris Wase
Long live Wase Federal Constituency
Long live Federal Republic of Nigeria
