Amendment of the Electoral Act is one vexed issue of utmost National interest and importance. The exercise is necessary following the inability of President Buhari to ascend to the amendments effected by the 8th National Assembly. Moreover, more areas and issues have come to the fore that require further amendment of the existing law.

The two day retreat brainstormed and reconciled perspectives of the Law makers with that of the election managers, INEC.

The retreat brought out the inadequacies and deficiencies of the existing law for necessary legislative action by the National Assembly to give the nation an electoral law that will entrench credibility in the electoral process thus facilitating a free, fair and credible elections.
