NATIONAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY PAYS INSPECTION VISIT TO LANGTANG NORTH/SOUTH FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY.

In response to the intervention of Hon Beni Lar over the recent disaster which affected some communities in her constituency, the National Emergency Management Agency paid an inspection visit to the affected communities.

Hon Beni Lar had moved a motion on the floor of the National Assembly notifying the house of the plight of her constituents. The Hon member has through her office written letters to relevant government agencies calling for quick intervention.

Leading the NEMA delegation, Mr Nyelong Eugene, the North Central Coordinator of the National Emergency Management Agency ( NEMA) were received by the Secretary of Langtang North Local
Government Council, Mr Timloh Mamven who briefed the team about the disaster in the community.

The team also made a brief stop at the Ponzhi Zinni Palace to pay homage to the monarch before the inspection tour, Mr Nyelong stated that they were in the community on the strength of the invitation by Hon Beni Lar who escalated the plea of the community to the agency. he further stated that this is an inspection tour to ascertain the level of damage caused to the community by rainstorms before further interventions can be made.

Welcoming the visitors, his Royal Highness Chief Langnim Nimnan the Ponzhi Zinni thanked Hon Beni Lar for her efforts describing her as a worthy daughter of the land. The monarch thanked the Federal Government for being very responsive to the plight of the people, he further used the opportunity to plead with the Federal & State Government to as a matter of urgency help in building an accessible road in Gazum Chiefdom.

In the Palace to recieve the visitors are the Ponzhi Gabong, the Ponzhi Kwalak as well as representatives of the Gazum Cultural Economic And Social Development Organization.

The tour covered some affected areas in Luktuk, Pil-Gani & Dabbar. The team also visited Langtang South Local Government Council where they were received by the Director of Personnel Management, Mrs Asabe Pianput .
