Rep. Bagos Moves Motion on Establishment of More Cancer Centres in Honor of His Late Mum

On Thursday 19th September, 2019 at Plenary, the Member Federal House of Representatives representing Jos South/Jos East Federal Constituency Plateau State, Rep. Dachung Bagos moved motion on the floor of the House Mandating the Federal Government to establish more Cancer Centres and provide Linear Accelerated Machines in General Hospitals across the Nation to cater for Cancer related illnesses.

The motion was in honour of his late mother who died of breast cancer and other cancer patients.

The house unanimously agreed to appropriate in the 2020 budget the establishment of at least two oncology centres for radiotherapy in each geopolitical zone of the country to address early cancer diagnosis.

Rep. Bagos said he will follow up alongside his colleagues the Chair committee on Health Institutions and Chair committee on Health services to ensure implementation.

Rep. Bagos said he is committed to legislation that will improve health status of the people and enhance quality health service delivery.

He said health is paramount and healthy citizens depict productive nation.

“Health is critical and should be given the much needed attention” he said.

Rep. Bagos also called for increased funding through budgetary allocation to the health sector.
