An Emmanuel Odafe inspired Plateau United extended their lead at the top of the Nigerian Premier League summit with a dominant 2-1 win over Sunshine stars in Akure.

Emmanuel Odafe opened the scoring at the 50^th minute with a fine display, the lead was extended by Dayo Ojo of Sunshine Star’s own goal. Placing united at a comfortable lead at the top of the table with their closest rivals FC IfeanyiUbah 5 points behind.

The goalkeeper of sunshine stars was shown a red card shortly after the second goal when he launched an attack the center referee. Sunshine stars ended the game one man down.

In Makurdi, Lobi Stars thrashed MFM 3-1 to move to fifth position on 36 points just as El-Kanemi Warriors lost steam at home and were held to 1-1 draw by defending champions, Enugu Rangers.

Niger Tornadoes bounced back with a slim 1-0 win over Rivers United in Lokoja, former champions, Enyimba FC forced Gombe United to 1-1 draw in Gombe and Nasarawa United inspired by Hassan Adamu defeated Katsina United 2-0 in Lafia.
