Plateau State Pioneer Statistician General, Hon. Pamson Dagyat Holds Thanksgiving, Says He is “a Product of God’s Grace”

Plateau State Pioneer Statistician-General, a Seasoned Technocrat and the Head of CIS Department, ICT Directorate in the prestigious University of Jos, Plateau State, Hon. Pamson Gabriel Dagyat on Sunday 22nd December, 2019 held Thanksgiving to commemorate his 50th Birthday, his mother’s 75th Birthday and also dedicated his children to God.

Hon. Pamson recounted his life journey, how he got employed in 2007 as Statistician with the University of Jos. He eulogized Da Bulus Dareng, Nde Jidauna Dimka and Professor Sonni Gwanle Tyoden (then Vice Chancellor and the present Deputy Governor of Plateau State) who he said played critical roles in ensuring he returned back to the University of Jos having contested the Chairmanship of Jos South LGA but couldn’t make it.

Hon. Pamson as he is fondly called disclosed that he is outwardly favored by the immediate past Governor of Plateau State, His Excellency Da Sen. Jonah David Jang, CON who he described as a father, mentor, legend and the undisputable Architect of modern Plateau State who appointed him Commissioner of Plateau State Planning Commission and the pioneer Statistician General of Plateau State.

He also said he is greatly indebted to the Vice Chancellor of University of Jos, Prof. Sebastine Maimako for the nod given him to head the CIS Department, ICT Directorate of the University of Jos.

He said his 50th years traversing the world, he has allowed God to use him to equally be a blessing to others and will continue to impact many more as long as God grant him the grace, life and capacity.

Da Hon. Pamson said his desire is to serve God, make meaningful impact to humanity & the society.

Hon. Pamson described his mother Ngo Mary Clement Dagyat as a loud, rationally reactive and impulsive defender of the weak. These traits he said had continued to serve as their hedge and shield from outsiders and in the same vain an albatross on their neck that ensured prudence in their dealings.

He said they decided to use the day to thank God and express openly their gratitude to their mother for the care and cover over them in thick and thin.
He prayed God to grant her more healthy and happy years ahead.

In his message, Very Tev. Fr. Ijeddi Daniel who read from Isaiah 1:10-14 said God created us to know Him, love Him and Worship Him in total obedience

He urged the congregation to please God & do His will all the time as well as ensure they finish the race of life well in Christ.

He prayed for Hon. Pamson and admonished him to continue to make greater impact to the body of Christ and humanity.

The event which held at Saint Mathias Kalemba Mulumba Pastoral Area Gazen Hwak Kuru Jos South LGA brought together former Plateau State Commisdioners, Heads of Boards, Local Government Chairmen, PDP Stalwarts, illustrious sons and daughters across the State.

Damanjey CP Dagyat Plaza was commissioned in honour of their late Father, Da Clement Dagyat in Hwak Kuru.

Guests were later treated to a dinner at the residence of the celebrant.
