Plateau Oba Yourba’s stool – Olagbemiro remains best choice – Youths

For every kingdom, there must be a king, It is also customary that once a king goes to sleep, another one emerges.

Late Oba Yourba Plateau Chief Solomon Akanbi Olugbodi, who died about a year ago has been given a befitting burial .

But since the late Oba Plateau who was the former MD / CEO of MONAK stores Ltd passed on, everyone has been quiet about who succeeds him. Our correspondent learnt that while people are being careful about the matter, there is a silent race among those who were approached by Yoruba stakeholders and Youths to succeed the late Monarch .

A Yourba group operating under the Platform of Yourba Youths for good governance, has drummed support for a business man Hon Jide Olagbemiro for the position of Oba Yourba Plateau describing him as the best material for the position .

Making the declaration in Jos , Coordinator of the body, Akanni Babatude, said Hon Jide is broad minded and has strong value for national unity.

The group with membership drawn from civil society and other stakeholders in the Yourba region said Jide had sterling qualities that would market the Yourba,s in Plateau

“We are solidly behind him. He is our choice. We love him because he has all it takes to be our Oba. Over the years he has created hundreds of jobs and employment opportunities for deserving youths and job seekers in Plateau and has contributed actively in the affairs of the yourbas in Plateau .

The statement further reads that “Most youths are behind Olagbemiro because he has done a lot to the Yourba community in the past and he is still doing more for the people of community in Jos .”
“We call on other Yourba,s in the state to support Hon Jide at all times .

Jide has been tested and trusted ,the other contender for the position is somebody we do not know , the statement added .
