Masari meets CAN leaders on banditry, COVID-19

Governor Aminu  Masari of Katsina State on Tuesday evening held a meeting with the leadership of Christian Association of Nigeria in  the state over the challenges of banditry and COVID-19.

The governor disclosed at the opening session of the meeting that he would “welcome your suggestions on finding solutions to the problems.”

He urged CAN leaders to be frank in their suggestions.

The Secretary to the State Government,Alhaji Mustapha Inuwa, also urged CAN leaders to offer suggestions on how to curtail the activities of informants who gave information to bandits.

The Permanent Secretary in the state Ministry of Health, Dr Mustapha Kabir, who spoke on COVID-19 emphasised that the pandemic was real.

Kabir said over 20.4 million people had tested positive for COVID-19 globally, adding that over 500,000 deaths had been recorded.

The Permanent Secretary said in Katsina State, out of the 557 cases, 23 deaths had been recorded.

Kabir advised that the CAN leadership should conduct more enlightenments for members on hand washing, use of sanitizers, wearing of  face mask and observing social distancing to curtail the spread of the pandemic.

Some of the CAN leaders who spoke at  the meeting included Reverend Yunana Suleiman, Reverend Audu Bakwai and  Reverend Yakubu  Doka.
