Chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria in 19 Northern states and the Federal Capital territory Rev Yakubu Pam has tasked the newly elected Chairman of Northern Governors Forum ,Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau state to take the issue of security in the Northern states as his top priority as he assumes the leadership of the forum .
Rev Pam in a press statement issued in Jos and made available to newsmen said Governor Lalong election to man the office of Northern Governors Forum at this critical time is a testimony of his leadership qualities and urged him to do all he could to ensure lasting peace returns to Plateau state and other 18 states of the North.
According to him, the people of the North are in dire need of development in all human endeavors and expressed confidence that Governor Lalong has all it takes to take Northern Governors forum to the next level.
Pam added that the Northern Christian body is also looking forward for close collaboration with Northern Governors for religious harmony between the Christians and Muslim faithfuls in the Northern states.
He insisted that the Northern Governors must ensure the people in their respective state are given the room to exercise their rights to have freedom of worship if they are to contribute their quota to the developments of the states they live in the affected states.
Pam urged Governor Lalong led Northern Governors forum to always deliberate on issues that could turn around the fortunes of the Northern states and come up with suggestions on how they could move the Northern states forward in the area of development in Education and technological development to be at par with Southern states of the federation.
