J.T Useni breaks silence on jos crises

PRESS RELEASE!

Good governance is a major factor for the existence of peaceful relationship among people of diverse tribes and religions on the Plateau in the yesteryears which resulted to purposeful development in the State. It is pertinent to point out that the need to embrace and sustain peace is vital.

The recent unrest in some parts of Jos North leaves one to wonder and ask questions if violence is the way to go: Does it bring development? If peace is the way to go, why won’t we all give it a chance for a better plateau.

For the citizens to be protected and to be prosperous, the government should be seen as being proactive in matters of security and to be protective of her people. The government should be proactive at all times to stopping reoccurrence of this evil menace. In a situation where government apparatus and the security agencies are allegedly seen to be aligning with a particular side of the divide is rather injustice to humanity and it’s a call for the citizens to protect themselves which is not always the best.

The security should be seen as neutral in the fight for a peaceful plateau and the nation as a whole. I implore everyone to embrace peace and be an agent of peace always.

I am identifying with those who lost their loved ones. Let them accept my condolences. I also pray for speedy recovery for those that are injured.

I call on the government to rise and do the needful by protecting the lives and properties of her people as part of the oath it took.

God bless Nigeria.
God bless Plateau state.

Signed:
Senator Jeremiah Timbut Useni.
