HAUSA FULANI WOMEN PAY A COURTESY CALL ON SENATOR GYANG

The people’s Parliament, Constituency office of Senator I. D. Gyang, in its usual character hosted constituents in their droves on Wednesday 6/01/2021. Amongst those that came are women from the Hausa/Fulani community led by Hajiya Umma Hassan.

The women came on the visit to appreciate the Senator’s strong commitment to peace and for embracing all communities including those that did not vote him in the 2019 election.

Musa Ibrahim Ashoms, Special Assistant, Media & Protocol to Senator I. D. Gyang, Esq. disclosed this in press statement on
6th January, 2021.

They applauded Senator Gyang for rising above prejudice and sentiment to be a voice for the entirety of Plateau North, the Hausa Fulani inclusive.
They made reference to Solar Boreholes and Primary schools among the projects the Senator has sited in Jos North.

The women through their leader also spoke on their resolve to advance the education of their children as the only guarantee for a better future. The spokeswoman also intimated the Senator of their non partisan stance but would back any candidate that proves his or her mettle and that so far he fits that stance.

Senator Gyang in his response expressed delight over the visit and recall how Plateau North has been challenged by sectarian unrest and violent attacks that ruined communal harmony and trust but is returning to its status as a model for peaceful coexistence.

The Senator remarked that his campaign was anchored on the restoration of peace to Plateau North and to pursue reconciliation to rebuild trust and restore communal harmony and coexistence.

Senator Gyang spoke on his commitment to equitable and credible representation that transparently demonstrates constituency character in his programes and projects.

The Senator intimated the Hausa Fulani women that under the 2021 Budget, he has provision for the empowerment of womem and youth and assured them of an inclusive excercise that will benefit them.
