People living in Gyel and Du districts of Jos have been told that there is no alternative to peaceful co-existence. The paramount ruler of the area and Chairman Plateau State Council of Chiefs, Gbong Gwom Jos stated this while on a peace tour that was initiated by the Special Task Force (STF) maintaining peace in Plateau.

The Gbong Gwom Jos, Da Jacob Gyang Buba said that peace can only be achieved by people themselves and that peace will be restored whenever the people agreed to it while stressing that the STF cannot bring back peace but only maintain law and order. He further said that the bitter past should be forgotten while looking towards the future with hope while urging people to divulge vital information to the security operatives. Buba was hard on Berom youths who engage in alcoholism and lived reckless lives and called on the STF to be fair to all while discharging their duties.
