FEDERAL CHARACTER COMMISSION TO INVESTIGATE ALLEGED SHORT CHANGE OF PLATEAU CITIZENS IN INEC EMPLOYMENT.

The Hon Commissioner Federal Character Commission, Plateau State,Stephen Jings has called for calm on allegations of shortchange of Plateau Indigenes in a recruitment exercise said to have been carried out by the Independent National Electoral Commission,INEC ,Plateau State.

Reacting to a petition by The Plateau Initiative For Development And Advancement Of Natives (PIDAN),Jings said the commission remains aware of its mandate as such will not allow what rightfully belongs to the people to be taken away from them.

He said the commission has taken note of the concern and will look into it with the view to calling the attention of relevant authorities and ensure the right thing is done.

According to Jings,PIDAN is a body that should not be taken lightly when it makes such weighty allegations as such the commission has already directed its relevant department to initiate a process to see to the allegations, get facts,as well as ensure the right thing is done.

He called on the public to be calm as the Federal Character Commission will make efforts within the shortest time possible and address the issue through proper engagement with the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

He stressed that knowing its mandate,the commission will ensure that what rightfully belongs to plateau people get to them.
