COVID-19: Jos North LGA Boss Shuts Down Clinic as 3 Staff Test Positive

Management of Jos North local government council of Plateau state Shehu Bala Usman has sealed a Primary Health Care clinic at Unguwa Rimi in Jos North Local Government Area for exposure to COVID-19.

A statement signed by Philip Eplong, the Senior Information Officer of the LGA made available to newsmen in Jos reads that three Medical personnel from the Primary Health center tested positive to the Virus .

He said that Management Committee Chairman of Jos North Local Government Council Shehu Bala Usman who personally sealed the Health center said the medical personnel were treating a patient who they thought had malaria but later realized that the patient had contracted COVID 19.

The statement further reads that three out of the 15 Health Workers at the center tested positive of the disease.

Usman called on all health personnel in the area to be cautious henceforth when handling any patient.

Narrating the development, the Supervisory Councilor of Primary Health Care in the area Danladi Dashe said already the three persons have since been quarantined for proper treatment and the remaining twelve who tested negative are in self isolation.

Dashe urged people of Jos North not to panic as the local government under the leadership of Shehu Usman is on top of the situation.

Meantime,the management of Jos North LGA has commenced the enforcement of the use of face Masks in the Council.
