Chairman Langtang South Rims vows to tackle poverty

Chairman of Langtang South Local Government Area of Plateau Hon. Rims Samson Nimchak, on friday said he is determined to tackle poverty and improve the living condition of the people of his LGA .

“We are determined to provide soft loans to women and youths in our council to tackle poverty .”

Rims made this known while speaking on his one year in office in a programme Titled Good morning Plateau on Peace FM Jos .

“On assumption of office , i did not joke with the issue of security, as i worked to ensure lasting peace in the local government , Our LGA is very peaceful ,i created a conducive environment for education to thrive and recently procured exercise books for primary and secondary schools students in my LGA”.

“I registered the Joint Admission Matriculation Board JAMB for over 200 outstanding students of Langtang south who performed excellently well in their WAEC results .”

“Over 10 students in various tertiary institutions are been sponsored by the All Progressive Congress APC led administration in my LGA . “

“In Agriculture i ensured that farmers get the best as before now farming, which is supposed to sustain the livelihood of people of Langtang south is hallmarked by post-harvest losses.” Crops rot away as farmers cannot get them to the market because of bad roads. The loss is debilitating, entrenching poverty. “Some food products never get to leave the farm before they experience spoilage, damage or waste while others happen during transport, storage and in the markets, at the moment i am doing my best in ensuring that roads are constructed to enable that farm products are transported to the market without stress .”

” We constantly distribute bags of fertilizers and improved seedlings to farmers in the LGA .”

He further said his administration has constructed so many bridges and roads in the LGA and currently building a clinic in Faya village .

Rims further said ” i would continue to do more for people of my LGA “

“The APC government in my LGA is working to ensure that farmers get the best government can offer . “

“In the health sector ,We are also working to ensure that the sector is given a facelift as recently we offered free Medical Outreach to over 5,000 Residents of the local government .”

Rims promised to continue to tackle poverty, poor health care and education as well as as carter for the youths, women and aged.

He said “My desire is to create a Langtang South filled with growth opportunities for all diligent and hard-working people, both young and old. ’ saying he possesses every necessary competence to move the LGA forward .

“We run an open door policy we are committed to the growth of our local government and Plateau .”

Hon Rims further hailed Governor Simon Lalong for his efforts in developing Plateau and called on the people of the state to support the APC government at all times .
