Celtic FC Heipang Wins Da Sen. John Wash Pam Memorial Peace Cup Football Tournament

The Grand Finale of the 2019 Memorial Peace Cup Football Tournament of Late Da Sen. John Wash Pam held today Thursday 26th December, 2019 at Ekan Primary School Football Field Karon-Mission, Foron Barkin Ladi LGA with Celtic FC Heipang winning the tournament with 2 goals against Buffalos FC Bakin Kogi.

This First Edition of the Tournament started on 22nd October, 2019.

Coordinator of the Tournament and Son to the Second Republic Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Mr. Ganan Wash Pam after welcoming the guests said the historic tournament was birthed by the John Wash Pam Foundation in a bid to uphold the wishes, aspirations and legacies of its mentor, patriarch, leader, statesman, Da Senator John Wash Pam, CON.

He said the essence of the tournament include promoting unity and peaceful coexistence in line with its theme.

He said the tournament will hunt talents that will be used both locally and internationally as the foremost Nigerian Premier League side has pencilled at least two of the talented lads for a shot at its feeder team.

He congratulated those selected and pray they will make breakthrough in their football career.

He appreciated Rep. Suleiman Yahaya-Kwande for sponsoring some prizes and cash reward.

He prayed for the tournament to bring about peaceful coexistence in Foron, Barkin Ladi LGA and Plateau State.

Chairman of the occasion, Ustaz Omar Faruq Muh’d, Esq the Deputy Imam of NASCO Fibre Mosque eulogized Late Sen. John Wash Pam describing him as a bridge builder and a Nationalist.
He admonished the children to emulate their late Father by being agents of national unity, peace and cohesion.

He urged the people to be promoters of peace and demonstrate love all the time.

Trophies and medals were presented to winners and deserving personalities.

The Special Guest of Honour, Hon. Lumumba Adah Ade, Former member Jos North/Bassa Federal Constituency sponsored the trophies for highest goals scorer and the most valuable player of the tournament presented the Trophy to the winners Celtic FC of Heipang.

Young Stars FC B/Ladi took the 3rd place having defeated Gwakim FC in penalty shootout.
