Personnel of Benue State Livestock Guards, BLSG, have apprehended 230 cows and four herders for allegedly violating the state’s grazing law. Parading the confiscated cattle at the BLSG headquarters in Makurdi, Commander of the Guards, Mr. Linus Zaki, disclosed that the herders were arrested in Guma and Gwer West Local Government Areas of the state. He said parts of the herd were arrested on July 13, while on patrol around Iordye Road at Gbajimba in Guma LGA.He added: “We arrested and transferred them to our headquarters in Makurdi. Two security sources told AFP on Wednesday that nine Nigerian troops were killed in Borno State.The soldiers were travelling in a convoy when the lead vehicle struck the land mine.According to the news agency, information about the attack filtered in late, as the Islamic State in West Africa had destroyed communication infrastructure around areas it seized control of. Plateau State has commenced its post-COVID-19 economic recovery plan with the re-acquisition of the Brewery Agro Research Company Farms in Zallaki village of Bassa Local Government Area.
