The President, Federal Republic of Nigeria, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), has commiserated with the Catholic Bishop of Sokoto, Matthew Kukah, over the death of his mother, Janet.

Buhari, in a statement on Friday by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, prayed to God to grant the deceased’s soul eternal rest.

The statement read, “President Muhammadu Buhari extends heartfelt condolences to the Most Rev Matthew Hassan Kukah, Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, on the passing of his mother Janet Hauwa Kukah.

“The President also commiserates with members of the family of Kukah, praying almighty God to grant the soul of the departed eternal rest.”
