President Muhammadu Buhari has warned the bandits wreaking havoc across the country, saying his government has the capacity to deal with them.

In a statement Mallam Garba Shehu, his spokesman, issued on his behalf, the president lamented the high rate of criminality.

He said if not for the fact that the captives could be used as human shields, resulting in heavy casualties, security forces would have descended heavily on them.
