ASUU Unijos Produced and donates free hand sanitizer

The Academic Staff Union of universities (ASUU) university of jos branch today distributed free hand sanitizers to the general public as part social responsibility Join in the fight against the covid 19 virus…
The Chairperson of ASUU Unijos, Dr Lazarus Mai-goro states that this Innitiative is in line with the principle of the Union of solidarity, courage and integrity. The chairperson further states that the hand sanitizer and the flyers is part of its solidarity as a union against the fight of the pandemic covid -19.
Representing the Governor of Plateau State, the SSG, prof. Danladi Atu commends ASUU Unijos for taking this Innitiative. The SSG states that the state is interested to partner with the union in the production of sanitizers and mask as well as public awareness campaign and research.
The president of ASUU, Comr Prof. Biodun ogunyemi who spoke through the zonal Cordinator Bauchi Zone says ” ASUU will support in any way, the fight against Covid 19,ASUU identifies with government at the federal state and Local Government on this fight” he states that this Innitiative is the second as the university of Ibadan had taken similar Innitiative and many other Universities will take similar action.
The president also says ” that ASUU had interven in many sectors including the payment of scholarship to about 80 indigent students across the country ”
The beneficiaries include Juth, NLC, NUJ, CAN, Central mosque, NURTW, Plateau Riders. And plateau state government
The VC Prof. S.S Maimako appreciates ASUU for this inniatiative While calling on the government that the University will partner with government in any area of need to fight against the covid 19.
VPN gathered that the Academic Staff in federal universities Have not been paid Salaries for about two months now, and are still On strike over over failed agreement with the Federal Government in revitalization of public education in Nigeria.
