6 Division Nigerian Army Headquarters Port Harcourt Gets New General Officer Commanding

The newly appointed General officer commanding and component commander operation Delta safe, 6 Division of the Nigerian Army in Port Harcourt, Major General Felix Agugo assume duty on Monday, 18th of November 2019.

Speaking at the 6 division Headquarters in Port Harcourt, the incoming GOC said he is pleased with the division success record and assured that he will build on the existing success of the division.

He commended the outgoing GOC and the officers for cooperating with him and urged that such relationship should be extended to his administration.

GOC cautioned officers and soldiers of the division to take their duty serious or be shown out of the division.

On his part, the outgoing General officer commanding 6 division of the Nigerian Army Port Harcourt Headquarter, Major General Jamil Sarham said the dedication and loyalty received from officers and soldiers of the division should be extended to the incoming GOC, saying that despite the challenges, the officers are eager to carry out their assigned tasks.

He urged the incoming GOC to see to the welfare of officers, adding that posting of officers is normal in Nigerian Army formations

Correspondent Ayo Odungweru reports that, earlier, the outgoing GOC, Major General Jamil Sarham decorated 4 officers of the division who are promoted from the rank of Colonel to Brigadier General urged them to be focus by improving their loyalty to service.

Those decorated with the rank of Brigaadier general are Yakubu Kaytdana Musa, SP Codimus, Chinedu Raph Nnebife and Samuel Ademije.

In his advice to the newly promoted officers, Brigadier General Taoreed Lagbaja congratulated the four officers who were promoted,urging them to see their promotion as services to the Nation.

He noted that the promotion is to spur them to be diligent, steadfast and dedicoated to their duty and advice that God should be their watch word in everything they do.

He encourage their families to support them in there pursuit to greater height.

The report says the officers who were promoted from rank of colonel to Brigadier General, YAKUBU KAYTDAMA, AND CHINEDU RAPH NNEBIFE promised to uphold the virtues of the Nigerian Army with integrity and loyalty.

They also thanked the Chief of Army staff, Lt general Tukur Buratai for finding them worthy of the promotionand commended the outgoing GOC for improving in them. They also promised to work diligently and be loyal to service.
