Diye Zarmaganda Community Resident Decries Government Negligence on Road Budgeted for

Attention to His Excellency, Barr. Simon Bako Lalong on the State of Diye Road from Sparkling Junction through Europharm to Link Zarmaganda to Rayfield Road – Zion Rindam

May i start by congratulating you on your recent victory, reelection and subsequent swearing in as the Executive Governor of Plateau State.

I want to pray that the Almighty God will give you the wisdom and direction to lead the people of Plateau State for the next four (4) years.

Numerous as the daunting challenges maybe, i want to assure you to remain focused and visionary towards the actualization of the 5-point agenda of the 2nd phase of your administration unveiled on the day you were sworn in, 29th May, 2019 which are:

  1. Peace, security and good governance;
  2. Physical infrastructural development, and

3.Sustainable economic growth.

I wish to commend you for streamlining the policy framework and articulating them into the three critical aspects as mentioned above.

If the agenda are implemented fully, they are capable of transforming the State and uplifting the socioeconomic wellbeing of the Plateau people.

While we are in our little corners contributing immensely to peace and security, we will continue to pray and advocate for physical infrastructural development which is critical to the overall economic development.

Sir, permit me to say our community, Diye Tohort Zarmaganda Jos South Local Government Area of the State is one of the fastest growing community in the State Capital and their is urgent need for critical infrastructural development most importantly portable drinking water, access road and adequate security which the community is presently lacking.

It will be recalled that the road from Sparkling Junction through Europharm linking Zarmaganda to Rayfield Road which is very significant was budgeted for both in 2016 and 2017 Fiscal Year but as we speak there is no execution of the project. The road is becoming extremely bad for motorists and other users despite how strategic the road is. Government should look into this by executing the project to address the hardship being faced by the people plying that road.

The community also lack portable drinking water and that has made most of the households resort to consuming unsafe water from sources that potents health danger to them. This should be given the much needed attention.

Members of the community have come under constant harassment by criminal elements who dispossesses them of their belongings and valuable including cars, shop items and others. Government should look into this critical aspect too and make the community safe, convenient and secured to the people.

This is wishing you the very best in the remaining years as Governor and future ambition even as you look into the issues raised in this note.

Thanks

Zion Rindam
